Option 1.

Introduction to Breathing Practices

Mastering control of one’s own breath is the foundation of yoga, and essential to one’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This workshop introduces breathing practices that will enable individuals to better focus their attention, reduce stress levels, regulate their body’s reaction to fatigue, stimulate energy, release physical tension, lower their heart rate and blood pressure. The purpose of this workshop is to give participants a comprehensive education on the most common breathing techniques, ones that can be used throughout every day and through every experience. No experience is necessary to begin learning.

Option 2.

Exploring a Body Scan

This workshop is all about heightening awareness of your physical body, through a technique called body scanning. We will identify ways to use the body scan practice to focus your attention, regulate emotion, manage stress and explore physical body sensations in the moment they’re occurring. No experience is necessary to begin learning.

Option 3.

Introduction to Chair-Based Movement

This workshop is designed for those with restricted mobility, for those on the 9-to-5 schedule, for students who sit  at desks most of the day, and for anyone else seeking more knowledge  about chair-based movement. You will be introduced to breathing techniques and taught how to be more aware of your physical body in an effort to improve physical and mental well-being. This is especially important for those living more sedentary lifestyles. You will also be made aware of the signals and sensations your physical body constantly provides that can help you understand stored muscular and emotional tension. No experience is necessary to begin learning.

Option 4.

Using Mindful-Based Practices for Self Care

Self-care is a daily journey of intentional living and being mindful about your physical, mental and emotional well-being. It’s a choice, day in and day out, to look out for yourself, but with the right tools —it can become a natural part of your daily life. The beautiful thing about self-care is that it may start as an individual choice, but each individual choice contributes to a collective well-being and, ultimately, to a more aware, compassionate, connected community.

We have designed this course with educators, leaders and other facilitators in mind. We understand that it  is often you all who’re too busy taking care of others, forgetting to do the same for yourself. We want to remind you that you cannot fully show up for others without first taking care of YOU. When we practice self-care, we are able to show up as better leaders for others.
